Membership fees
Being a member of ALIA puts you and your organisation at the forefront of our profession and gives you a voice in shaping the future.
ALIA is the peak professional body that advocates for library and information workers and the communities they serve. There's no better way to have your say than to get involved.

Personal membership fees
Personal membership fees 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012
Personal membership of ALIA is available to all librarians and information workers, library technicians, library students and people who work in the LIS profession.

Overseas residents* |
Full fee [$294.00] applies to persons whose gross personal income for the financial year is more than $30 000.
Reduced fee [$148.00] applies to persons whose gross personal income for the financial year is $30 000 or less, and Health Care Card holders. It also applies to graduates for their first two years in the profession after graduating from an ALIA accredited course.
Student/retired fee [$75.00] applies to students not in paid employment, and persons who are over 55 and have retired from employment.
Joint membership discount is available for two applicants residing at a single address if their combined total annual fee exceeds $294.00. Annual membership will be reduced by $30.00 [$2.50 per month], and one copy of inCite will be supplied for the address given.
Administration fee: A one-off administration fee of $36.00 applies to all new or re-admitting Associate and Library Technician applicants. The fee covers the election process and the issuing of a certificate. Upfront payment of this fee is required - it is not possible to pay the administration fee by direct debit. |

Voucher-only membership fees
Voucher-only membership fees 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012
ALIA will no longer issue Interlibrary loan redeemable vouchers from 1 December, 2011. Membership is available to institutions wishing to redeem vouchers prior to the end of the redemption period on 30 June 2012.
