The ALIA National Policy Congress 2004

Regional meetings were held from late-August through to early-September in each of the capital cities. This year there was also a regional NPC held in Alice Springs and in Cairns. It is anticipated that the number of areas holding regional meetings will increase in the future. For details of the outcomes of the meetings held in your nearest regional meeting please refer to the ALIAnet meetings reports.

The program for this year's NPC included:

  • Celebrating success
  • Enhancing the involvement and engagement of members in ALIA [more...]
  • ALIA's 2005 and 2006 plan [more...]
  • Identifying areas of professional practice [more...]
  • Group communication [more...]
  • Questions on notice
  • Questions without notice

There were discussion papers for each of the above areas except Celebrating success, Questions on notice, and Questions without notice. Celebrating success gave delegates to the regional NPC meetings the opportunity to talk about success stories from the year. Questions on notice were sent to the ALIA local liaison officer prior to your regional meeting. Answers - and the opportunity for discussion - were given at the regional meeting. Questions without notice provided the opportunity for delegates to raise any local issues for discussion.

The facilitator notes were also of use in setting the scene for each meeting.
