18 May 2007 Librarians are incredible says Queensland company[ PDF 312KB ] Queensland-based company Softlink, a provider of advanced library automation and information management solutions has joined forces with the Australian Library and Information Association to spread the word about libraries during Library and Information Week, May 21 to 27. Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing Manager, Paul Watts says Softlink is delighted to be a sponsoring partner of Library and Information Week 2007 and he hopes to build upon Softlink's involvement with the Australian Library and Information Association, its members and events in future years. "Softlink doesn't just provide solutions, but is very involved in many aspects of the Library Industry and as Library and Information Week is all about sharing with the community, we are keen to spread the word about the huge range of services libraries offer at every level of work, leisure and life," Mr Watts said. Australian Library and Information Association Executive Director, Sue Hutley, has welcomed the Softlink partnership and says it is particularly appropriate to celebrate in 2007. "It's a special year for us," Ms Hutley said. "2007 marks the 70th anniversary of the Australian Library and Information Association, and Library and Information Week is a time for us to celebrate the huge range of services and outstanding expertise libraries provide."
