Australian Library Journal editor announced

ALIA is pleased to announce that Ian McCallum has accepted the editorship of their flagship publication, The Australian Library Journal (ALJ).

Ian is widely known in the library sector as an active and successful consultant. He has been a member of ALIA since 1971, was President of the Association in 1986, and his contributions to the industry made him a worthy recipient of the Association’s prestigious HCL Anderson Award for outstanding service to librarianship in 2002.

Ian’s experience in leadership education and the tertiary sector also contribute to his undoubted capacity to follow in the footsteps of previous outstanding editors of ALJ such as John Levett, Harrison Bryan, and Jean Whyte. He will produce his first issue of ALJ early in 2007.

The ALJ is now in its 55th year of publication. It was founded in 1951, the year the Library Association of Australia (now ALIA) was begun. It has reflected and celebrated the changes and developments of the library and information profession, and we look forward to the next 55 years.
