ALIA TropicALIA [tropicalia]

TropicALIA is to be a geographically-based cross-sectoral network of ALIA members in Townsville, north Queensland and the surrounding areas which have been the traditional catchment area.

The purpose of the group will be to ensure the high standard of personnel engaged in information provision in the region and foster their professional interests and aspirations, to promote and improve the services provided by libraries and information agencies in the region, and to encourage people to contribute to the improvement of library and information services through support and membership of the Association.

TropicALIA was formed in 2001 but has been inactive for several years. The reformed TropicALIA will focus on networking and co-ordination of professional development activities in the region.
