5th ALIA Top End Symposium BackgroundThe ALIA Top End group will be hosting the 5th ALIA Top End Symposium in Darwin this October. The Top End Symposium is the premier event for library and information professionals in the Northern Territory, and has been hugely successful attracting both local and interstate audiences. This year's symposium is to be held at the central location of the International room at SKYCITY, Darwin. ALIA invites proposals to present papers at the symposium on the following theme: e-volving education"e-volving education" aims to highlight needs, changes and trends associated with the evolution of education in the context of libraries and the library profession; setting a challenge for delegates to "evolve" their own personal and professional knowledge, and share this knowledge through educating their clients and peers. Please feel free to suggest papers that relate in any way to how libraries use education or how it has evolved within the library sector. Topics for papers may include but not limited to the following:
The committee is also interested in hearing from professionals who may deliver workshops, tutorials, panel discussions and or demonstrations. AbstractsAn abstract of your paper is due by 20th July, and should consist of no more than 300 words. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to: evolvingeducation@alianet.alia.org.au. Please note that receiving an abstract does not guarantee acceptance of the paper; these will be considered amongst other abstracts received. Abstracts will be expected to meet the following criteria:
All presenters are required to submit a full paper, which will be made available on the ALIA Top End group website after the symposium. Presentations may be recorded.
