The ALIA Top End Symposium Committee invites you to join us for our 6th Top End Symposium - 2nd-3rd October 2009.
We will be exploring a very topical issue that is transforming libraries all over the world - how to engage our clients in their life-long learning activities, whether this means redesigning our physical spaces into state-of-the-art teaching and learning areas, or integrating our electronic resources with the content of learning management systems, or using Web 2.0 tools for information literacy training or library staff development, or any of the scenarios in between.
We hope you will join us in October in the Top End.

Conference Program [ .pdf 833KB ]
The theme of the conference is Exploring Library Spaces for Learning and eLearning. Speakers will highlight how library spaces – both physical and electronic – are changing in the new eLearning environment.
Many libraries around the globe are rising to the challenges of developing new learning spaces and eLearning environments……………." Is your library"?
A reminder: you are invited to submit an abstract for the Symposium
Call for Abstracts closes on 20th July 2009
Abstracts should consist of no more than 300 words, and should be submitted electronically to: diana.richards@nt.gov.au
Please contact Diana if you have any queries or thoughts about submitting an abstract – we encourage participation from all types of libraries.
Developing learning spaces starts with the library building and developing library spaces that attract different groups of clients. The eLearning environment has technology as the core to its success. eLearning spaces use e-resources and online databases in new and innovative ways. eLearning spaces also make use of web 2.0 and other interactive technologies, and can incorporate the electronic resources of your library into a Learning Management System.
