  • Scabby Knees at the State Records city office, attended by 20 people

Virtual Meetings: Virtual meetings were held regularly at the beginning of the year, but started to become spasmodic. To be re-evaluated for 2006.

  • Session with guest speaker on Communicating with technical people
  • Library tours, maybe in May with drinks on North Terrace
  • Writing a business case application
  • International Special Librarian's Day in April

Treasurers report:

Nothing to report

No appointed Secretary

Health Report:

Gratisnet - some electronic journals are now available to Gratisnet members, this is a huge development.

There could be a health conference in 2007-2008.

It has been a relatively quiet year.

There have been some health conferences attended by members.

Election of Office Bearers:

Elections delayed till 2006.

A recruitment drive may be necessary to have more Specials members attending the committee meetings.

Discussion followed regarding a more active membership, each committee member to target 3-5 people known to us and to ask for a greater commitment. Everyone to try to get at least one possible committee member.

Rachel to check on the privacy policy of ALIA regarding contacting members.

Next meeting to be a forum and election of officers. Hayley and Rachel to organise the forum in February.

Any other Business:

There was discussion about running the committee from July to June each year, but the decision made to keep to the January to December format.

Carol asked about a Specials Conference in 2006. More information about this is to be sent out by Carol.

Convener for 2006: Rachel and Hayley have offered to share the role.

Thanks to Rachel and Tania for the roles they have filled this year.

Meeting closed:

Meeting closed at 9:00am.
