Meeting minutes

Committee meeting held on Monday 11 July 2005 at 8:15am.

1. Present

Andrew Meier, Rachel Teesdale-Smith, Benjamin Wheal, Tanya Hook, Hayley Gamble, Silvia Muscardin, Marie Francis, Blan MacDonagh.

2. Minutes of previous meeting

Accepted. No business arising.

3. Reports

3.1 State records tour
Benjamin has arranged a tour of the exhibition Scabby knees, hopes and dreams for 20 people around mid-August 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Rachel and Benjamin will liaise with Janet Newman and advise a date. RSVP's to Rachel. Benjamin will send out flyer. (Unfortunately the ALIA e-lists accept text only.)

3.2 Assessing client needs
Rachel was following up on this for an event later in the year. She suggested having an early November event with speaker Marianne Turnwald on emotional intelligence. She will approach Marianne and report back.

3.3 ALIA SA rep report
Regional Conference to be held in Quorn 29-30 October. No details yet about accommodation.
InterALIA contributions - Hayley has sent a profile.

3.4 Visit to Magill Campus
Andrew spoke to Uni SA campus students on 31 May, representing the ALIASA Specials.

4. Other business

Future issues - the group agreed that there is a need for a future PD focus on issues of 'managing up' and being 'business savvy' (e.g. alignment with organisational strategic planning, and 'marketing to accountants').
