Business arising from the minutes 6.1 Update of the 'round up for the year' event Ten RSVP's received for the tour of the Migration Museum, and seven for the MBC Bar, with two people still undecided. All committee members are invited to send their RSVP's if they haven't already done so. Both Rachel and Silvia need the number of participants to finalise the bookings. If RSVP's above the maximum number of 20 are received for the museum, the tour could be repeated in the future. 7. Correspondence 7.1 Correspondence in E-mail from Juliet Marconi to Silvia Muscardin, re: possible visit of Steve Hiller to Adelaide for a seminar on effective library assessment. Potential joint event with the AGLIN (Australian Government Library and Information Network) and the ALLG (Australian Law Libraries Group) SA. See 8.1. 8. New business 8.1 Steve Hiller's visit to Adelaide. This item was added to the discussion at the eleventh hour for some preliminary input from the committee. The committee debated whether it would be feasible for specials SA to join the AGLIN in hosting an un-scheduled visit from Steve Hiller. As a joint event, it would be a less intensive organisational effort for our group. The possible drawbacks anticipated by Vicki are: high cost to members and the relevance of the topic to Specials and Law librarians. It was decided to reconsider this event when more information becomes available. 9. Any other business 9.1 Andrew proposed to prepare an article about the Specials SA committee online meetings for inCite. This contribution came after Silvia had declared the meeting concluded. However, taking into account the time delay in posting the contribution to the chat room, it was accepted as the last contribution. 10. next meeting The next meeting will be the informal AGM held during the 'round up for the year': 5:30pm Thursday 24th November 2004, at the MBC Bar (Embassy Hotel) 96 North Terrace, Adelaide. 11. Meeting close 3:29 pm |
