- A library tour (listed in the Spec calendar of events sent to ALIA Office last year by Kate Sinclair)
- ALIA Special SA AGM
9.4 Library Tours
- Library tours are popular, but we are already committed to a 1-day event (1), probably day event (2), and an A/H event (3). Can we commit ourselves to a library tour, as well?
- The AGM doesn't seem to be popular. Never attended by large member-base in recent years. In the past we had good attendance when coupled with a visit to some 'special' place (e.g. Old Adelaide Gaol), or supper at a restaurant.
- Could we combine library tour and AGM?
- PROs: Library tours popular. More interesting? Better attendance?
- CONs: What if members only come to the tour and skip the AGM? Too much at the same time? Too long?
- Proposed: 4:45pm Migration Museum + 5:30pm AGM + 6:00pm 'The Chapel' Held in November: We could skip the December monthly meeting (December is usually a full-on month with Christmas parties, etc.). Held on a Friday. Proposed date: Friday 26 November 2004.
- Please, bring your thoughts on the matter at the next meeting. We should also try to come up with a calendar of events for 2005 at the October meeting.
