1. Presidents Report
Jenny not present at the meeting so no report but she e-mailed an outline from Trevor Dickson re the proposed displays event.
2. Treasurers Report
At the last statement we had $2712.88. Expenses from the Tea Tree Gully planning sessions last month have not been taken into account in that figure.
3. Actions Arising
- 3.1 Alia Awards - Graduating Students
Marion attended Magill awards presentation. She successfully raised the profile of the group amongst library students.
- 3.2 Library visits
Payneham library was suggested as the next library visit, hopefully in August. Shane to contact Suzanne James to find possible dates in August. Same format as TTG, an after hours visit and group meeting.
- 3.3 Breakfast meeting
Kim suggested a Christmas breakfast meeting possibly by the Torrens. To be further discussed at a later date.
- 3.4 Mystery tour
Venue suggested for mystery tour, Shane to investigate possibilities.
- 3.5 Training
Discussed that the first training event this financial year could be around press releases. To be discussed next meeting. Rest of suggestions re training from the planning meeting to be kept on the agenda for discussion later in the year.
4. Events updates - Retail Technology Display Workshops
After reading Trevor Gregory's workshop outline it was decided to hold two workshops the first on 1 July and the second on 7 July. Charges will be $100.00 ALIA members, $120.00 non members. Ideal numbers per group would be 10 to 11. Shane to confirm dates with Trevor and then e-mail Ask Clasa and put into his regular newsletter. If the workshops are successful and we feel there would be the demand there may be more workshops held later in the year, the possibility of regional workshops was also discussed.
5. Other business
Kim promised to print the list of proposed meeting dates and venues, instead of just thinking about doing it! She will bring it to the next meeting.
6. Next meeting
Thursday 3 July. Port Adelaide Library 2-4 Church Street Port Adelaide. 6:00pm for 6:15pm.
