Résumé and Key Selection Criteria: BiographiesBernadene Sward started her library career 20 years ago as an "accidental attendant" and has moved through various roles as audio visual technician, media technology coordinator, School Liaison Librarian and Library Manager and more recently as Portfolio Liaison Manager in RMIT University Library and Project Manager and Consultant in RMIT Vietnam. Accompanying the journey from attendant to consultant has been a journey of diversity in learning and skill gathering, studying first as a library technician, followed by an Undergraduate Degree in Psychoanalytic Studies and later with postgraduate qualifications in Trans-personal Counselling and a Graduate Diploma and Master of Business in Organisational Change and Consulting Bernadene has spent the last 2 years working as Project Manager to the RMIT Learning Centre Projects in Vietnam and in particular Thai Nguyen University Learning Resource Centre, travelling to and living in Vietnam for extended periods as Consultant to various university and philanthropic projects aimed at building capacity and developing standards and strategies for improvement to Vietnamese Libraries. During this time Bernadene has conducted many (many) interviews and read hundreds of CV's , letters of introduction and applications addressing KSC, sought input from colleagues and referees and provided feedback and support to potential and unsuccessful candidates. Chris Kelly is the Manager of the Libraries & Learning Department for Brimbank City Council. She has a passionate interest in the development of innovative workforces in the Library and Information industry and has been involved in a range of state-wide and industry working groups with a focus on workforce planning and promotion of the library and information industry. Chris has been on both sides of the table; responding to selection criteria and being interviewed for positions as well as writing selection criteria, short listing and interviewing candidates. Jenny Baran is a Recruitment Consultant from The One Umbrella. The One Umbrella is Australia's most established IM recruitment and consulting service, and they specialise in recruiting library, records and knowledge management staff. Jenny initially began her career as a Library Technician then upgraded her qualifications to a Bachelor of Business in Information Management at RMIT University. She worked in traditional library roles for many years, then spent seven years with a vendor prior to her move into recruitment four years ago. |
