ALIA New Graduates Group: The social pages

Leadership, career development and Aurora Sydney, July 2006

Held at the University of Technology Sydney, July 13's Sydney NGG event exposed some major questions to considered individual and group opinion.

A convivial and considered atmosphere supported Dagmar Schmidmaier, Susan Lafferty and Melanie Adam as they shared diverse and entertaining perspectives on leadership, career development and the Aurora Foundation.

Roughly 30 people were able to attend. People were from a range of stages in their profession, all with a common interest in constructive steps we can take to promote and develop our profession and roles. Some solid steps to achieve this were clearly aired.

An article raising many relevant issues was identified, entitled: 'What if Wal-Mart Ran a Library?' For the benefit of attendees, and those that couldn't make it, please find inline a link to the full text article, which deserves your deep and considered attention.

Thanks go out to Larissa Reid for staffing the event and all the people who were able to attend.

Look forward to the next NewGrads Sydney event.
