NSW New Graduates Group Patron

The NSW branch of the NGG has recently introduced a patron program as part of their group. This patron will be a senior member of the library and information community who, with the NSW New Graduates Group, organise high-quality events for members. It is an honorary position, and we welcome the generosity and enthusiasm with which our patrons have sought to help new graduates make their way in the big wide world of information.

Inaugural NSW NGG patron

The inaugural and current patron is Dagmar Schmidmaier, NSW state librarian. Dagmar has shown a strong interest in the New Graduates Group, speaking at functions in Sydney and attending the 2nd New Librarians' Symposium in Adelaide in 2004. Dagmar's support is much-appreciated, and we look forward to a positive, ongoing relationship with her which opens up a potentially intimidating industry for new graduates.
