ALIA WA Library TechniciansJanuary 2002: news from this monthHi everyone! Well let me say first of all that I hope you all had a lovely break over the Christmas season. I know I did! I managed to catch up with friends in Maragaret River and spent New Years on their verandah sipping some very nice red, and catching up on the year's news. Lovely! This year promises to be as jam packed as last year, due to numerous requests, we will be re-running a few workshops and seminars. The full program appears below. Our first meeting of this year is 12 February at LISWA (room to be confirmed) at 5:30pm. For those brave souls that came to the last general meeting I promise it won't be as long as last time: and we can all go for a drink at the Brass Monkey after to catch up! Brenda will send an agenda around and confirm which room, so look out for that. The details will also be on our website at ALIA. Our first function for this year will be a talk on CPD. Titled: Continuing Professional Development: What's In It For Me? It will cover the what where and how of CPD and offer some starting points for those interested in undertaking cpd. We will also have a couple of 'real life' stories from some library techs who are active in cpd. The evening is free and light refreshments will be provided. Date is set at 27 February starting at 6:30pm. Contact: Brenda Ellen for details of venue etc. or watch the ALIA website! See below for the years program, I look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones! Cheers! Bonnie Rae
