6.1 WALTG report submitted 23 November to Susanne, ALIA National Office - included details about key group activities, expenditure, issues for ALIA, issues for the group. Budget information still progressing.

- General business:
- 8.1 WALTG committee.
- Newsletter proposal
- From budget 2002 correspondence
: members felt it was too costly to set up own published newsletter. Adequately served with inCite and e-lists.
- Members database - WALTG use only
- A way of compiling various sources of information such as attendees to WALTG functions, membership levels attending, members interests, current job titles, employment sector, past presenters at functions, past and present committee members, activities presented and attendance, etc.
Some information already stored between ALIA and WALTG, duplication of effort not desired
Action: Karen to draft e-mail questionnaire for members to canvass opinions about keeping such details
- South-West workshop brainstorming meeting
- Interested members attended the meeting 14 October. Sub-committee formed and other interested parties are welcome
Next meeting at Jean Broomhalls 24 November to discuss draft proposal for presentation to WA Forum and SWeLL, fine-tune dates and discuss promotion.
- Student conference grant
- Posting to the WALTG website of background information on the Grant, winning essays, conference reports and application details were discussed
Applications for the 2003 Grant will open in December 2002 and close in March 2003
Action: Bonnie to post to today's attendees for comment the details of Grant information being considered
- Metadata workshop
- Well-attended by 25+, with interest shown in running this again in 2002. CPD certificates for attendance are available by request to the Secretary
Debate - hand me my whip
Another well attended function by 25 who enjoyed the cut and thrust of the 'fors' and 'againsts' . A similar topic may be presented again in 2002
Action: Brenda to send thank you letters to debate members
- Bunbury workshop
- The November job application/interview workshop hosted and ably catered for by the SweLL members had a good response by 20 enthusiastic attendees. Bonnie and Stephen Coppins would like to thank the attendees and SweLL members who assisted in making the day so successful
- WALTG website
- Discussion centred on making a 'comments' section available for e-mail to the convenor or other committee members, posting the WALTG column from Incite to our page and providing a link back to inCite

- Budget projection for 2002
- WALTG application for continuation in 2002, budget projections and program for 2002 as well as Group convenors report on 2001 to be submitted to Susanne Bruhn by 23/11

- National Workshop Kit
- Deferred - to be discussed at National Policy Congress Meeting 7 December
- Roadshow proposal
- Lothar Retzlaff and Kerrie Kelly are developing a framework for internet delivery
- EmployLT service
- Lothar Retzlaff is co-ordinating this new service with listings of job opportunities being sent to WAIN, aliaLIBTEC, aliaNEWS, Biblia and other e-lists as they develop. Lothar hopes to set this service on its own website in the future
- Issues for NPC meeting in December
- Issues include: National workshop kit, Roadshow proposal, EmployLTService, changes to conference structuring
- Information session for TAFE students
- Bonnie presented a 'managing your own learning' session at Perth TAFE that was well attended and generated numerous questions. A development of the theme could be expanded into a function for students early in 2002
- Activities for next year
- A repeat of functions such as Metadata, fun debate, job application/interview skills and an information session for students have been flagged for 2002 as well as a weekend workshop in Bunbury in September and Library Tech group mentoring.

A vote of thanks to Bonnie for her enthusiasm and hard work during the year was proposed by Lothar Retzlaff and endorsed by the meeting.
