Business arising from minutes: none
Motion: to delete agenda items for section reports, members to report informally. Moved Bonnie Bruce, seconded Judy Smith, carried.

- Out: Welcome letter to WALTs members.
Business arising from correspondence:
- Action: Bonnie to check committee's contact details on the ALIA website.

Treasurer's report:
At 30 June 2001 the old group had $320.00 in petty cash and $271.92 in operating funds. These funds were returned to National office.

General Business:

8.1 WA Forum minutes are posted to the WAIN list.

Action: Jean to send WALTS committee details to Linda Simonis (local presence officer for WA Forum)

8.2 Bonnie gave feedback from the Conference.

8.3 Post-conference talk: so far 12 RSVP + 7 speakers

8.4 Metadata workshop: date Thursday 18 October.

Action: Karen to book Rosie O'Grady's for 30, theatrette seating, finger food/OJ.

8.5 Debate/dinner: moderator - Grant Stone, team - Bonnie, Gillian Westera, Sarah Edge, Stephen Coppins, 2 more needed - suggestions welcomed. Date approx. 9-12 November. Venue suggestions? Sunset Room (Cottesloe Beach Hotel), Cascade Tavern

Action: Once venue/costing set, Jean/Bonnie to formulate press releases, send details to community bulletin boards. (RTR FM, 94.5 6NR)

8.6 Stephen Coppins will be visiting WA around 9 November, can present a workshop in SW on job applications and interviews.

Action: Suzanne Mountford to ask SWeLL members for opinions.

8.7 Should have details of WA library schools/contacts in case of enquiries. Could be part of WALTS site. Also useful for posting advertising on notice boards.

Action: Karen to find out details.

8.8 WALTs page on ALIA site. Committee members to browse site for ideas to brighten WALTs page, eg. newsletter.

8.9 SW Conference: Mini Conference in the style of the workshops held in Mildura last year. Possibly in partnership with SweLL and WA Forum. Brainstorming meeting either 7th or 14th October at OBH Cottesloe. Topics to be discussed - theme/programme/funding/sponsorship - from this meeting, a proposal to be written which can be sent to WA Forum and SweLL for their input. Also, a sub committee to be formed to carry on work on Conference.

Action: Bonnie to e-mail ex-Freo conference organisers.

Bonnie to draft up e-mail to invite members to Brainstorming meeting.
