Metcalfe Award Presentation Dinner

On Thursday 8 June 2006, many library professionals from all sectors gathered to congratulate Tania Barry on the presentation of the Metcalfe Award. The Metcalfe Award recognises high achievement by a personal financial member in their first five years of practice in libraries and information services.

Sue Hutley, ALIA's Executive Director read the lengthy citation and presented Tania with a specially created one off trophy. Tania has devoted her time and energy to a number of ALIA groups including the Victorian Library Technicians, the National Library Technicians, ALIA Victoria and the Victorian Specials.

Her amazing work with the Wyndham Libraries service was noted along with her involvement in the local community and the partnerships that she has built. At Charles Sturt University Tania has consistently been the top student in her subjects and graduated with Distinction in 2006, receiving both of CSU's undergraduate prizes.
