Minutes of the meeting 15 October 2001

- Meeting opened: 6:40pm
- Present: Kathy, Sharron, Jennifer, Eva, Karen, Julie, Marion, Jackie.

- Minutes of the previous meeting: Accepted. Moved - Karen, seconded - Julie.
- Business arising from the minutes:
5.1. Not the AGM dinner. After discussion of options available decision made to book Rex Hotel, 172 Richmond Road, Marleston for dinner. Sharron has made reservation.
5.2. Dates of ALIA SA Group meetings. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month.
5.3. Tour of the IMVS Library. To be deferred until next year. Include in Planning Day discussion.
5.4. Group proposal. Need to submit justification of claims. Sharron to send a copy of the budget to Jennifer. Jennifer to work out cost of producing agendas and minutes for July, August, September, October.
5.5. Finalisation of previous group. Marion to forward copies of minutes and agendas for previous 12 months and end-of-year report to ALIA. Needs to be done each year. Jennifer to copy minutes and forward to Marion via black box.
5.6. Weekend workshop guidelines. Marion to forward direct to Bonnie-Rae Bruce (WA) for National Group.
5.7. inCite monthly themes and deadlines. Sharron to follow up.

6.1. New band-width. Ivan Trundle advised that band-width of ALIA pages on the internet has been increased and access should be quicker and e-mails arrive faster.
6.2. employLT. Lothar Retzlaff (WA) has undertaken role of National Employment Co-ordinator for Library Technicians.
6.3. ALIA question. Query from ALIA regarding group publications. None as yet.
6.4. Weekend Workshop guidelines. e-mail from Bonny-Rae Bruce requesting copy.

8.1. Planning for 2001-2002.
8.1.1. Mentoring programme. Sharron has produced brochure to hand out at Not the AGM dinner (based on WA model).
8.1.2. Regional group. Jennifer to provide copies of material she has to Karen and Eva who will approach those who responded to questionnaire.
8.1.3. Meeting dates for 2000-2001
8.1.3.1. 10 December, 2001: General meeting and follow-up planning.
8.1.3.2. 21 January, 2002: No meeting
8.1.3.3. 18 February, 2002: General meeting
8.1.3.4. March (early): Professional development day
8.1.3.5. 15 April: General meeting
8.1.3.6. 13 May: General Meeting
8.1.3.7. 21 May: Techs on Tour. 4:00pm to 7:00pm. City West Campus of Uni of SA. Bob Hawke Parliamentary Library, Roma Mitchell Arts Library, School of the Performing Arts. Followed by dinner.
8.1.3.8. 17 June: AGM
8.1.3.9. 26-27 October: Weekend Workshop. Suggested Mount Brecken, Victor Harbor. Work on attendance of 50. All committee to be involved. This will need to be confirmed by next committee.
