Key activities held in 2005

PD events and activities: National Library Technicians Day breakfast with guest speaker Andrew Shiells, program co-ordinator, library studies, Canberra Institute of Technology presenting the new training package to be started in semester 2.

Networking and social: We had two social dinners where folks caught up with one another. At both events we also had some new people attend.

A pre-conference afternoon tea proved popular with delegates catching up and arranging accommodation.

Other: 2006 will see our group being included/involved with AGLIN and ALIA ACTive PD activities. These will be posted on Libtec and the local e-mail group.

Group communications: We use Libtec and a local group e-mail to keep in contact with technicians. Also kept in contact with Canberra Institute of Technology with projected activities and also sent from Libtec Canberra employment opportunities which are in turn posted to their local network for student perusal.
