Strategic direction and related papers

An appraisal of Information Specialists was initiated in 2000, following the merger of the Information Science Section and NSW Special Libraries Section, and drawing on a Strategic Review paper by Elizabeth Swan and two member surveys in 1999 and 2000.

Subsequently, the Information Specialists national committee held planning workshops, facilitated by Robert McEntyre, to clarify its role and direction. Our Strategic Direction provides a guide on the purpose, values, strategic focus goals and structure of the group. We will be continuing to develop detailed action plans from these objectives.
