However, up to now there has been difficulty in arranging a date which suits all members of the ALIA delegation.
Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for senior members of the ALIA National Association to meet with regional institutional and individual ALIA members and potential members in a relaxed and friendly environment, creating more personal and direct contact with our professional association. To report on the 2006 National Advisory Congress and other ALIA matters. For members and potential members to gain better understanding of the role and functions of ALIA as a professional body and the mutual benefits of membership. To enable senior members of the ALIA national body to have a better awareness of some of the differences in operating as a regional ALIA Group, being a regional ALIA member, and working in the library and information sector in a regional area. To promote ALIA as a professional body to members and potential new members, and thereby encourage new members to join ALIA and our Regional Group. To provide an opportunity for local library personnel professional development and support, learning, networking, social contact, and friendship at the meeting Alternate activity for February 2007If the 14 February 2007 is not a suitable date for the ALIA President and Executives, the ALIANSWFNC Group will conduct the AGM Election of Office Bearers for 2007 and organise an alternative activity / speaker for this meeting.
