Agenda items:
Update on visit from ALIA President Dagmar Schmidmaier, and Executive Officers Sue Hutley, Helen Partridge and Claudia Davies

There has been no final date set for this visit, despite several emails and phone calls to the various people involved with this visit.

After discussion, it was decided to set a date for our first 2007 meeting for Wednesday 14 February. We hope that ALIA President, Ms Dagmar Schmidmaier AM, ALIA Executive director, Ms Sue Hutley, and ALIA Qld Local Liaison Officers Ms Helen Partridge and Ms Claudia Davies will be available to visit on that date.

If this date is not suitable for the ALIA President and Executives, the ALIANSWFNC Group will organize an alternative activity / speaker for that meeting.

Suggestions for 2007 meetings
There are 4-5 meetings proposed for 2007: February/March, May/June, August/September, late November. Dates and places for each event will be organised for suitable times throughout the year. Members will be notified on the elist a few weeks before each event. There were several suggestions for activities in 2007:

• Visit by ALIA President, Ms Dagmar Schmidmaier AM, ALIA Executive director, Ms Sue Hutley, and ALIA Qld Local Liaison Officers Ms Helen Partridge and Ms Claudia Davies.
• Request a visit by NSW State Librarian, Ms Regina Sutton.
• Lismore Living Library Richmond Tweed Regional Library. This is a new program where library patrons may go to the Lismore branch on certain dates during the year and 'borrow' one of several volunteer persons from the community to learn something specific relating to that person. Invite the organisers and/or a participant in the Lismore Living Library program to talk to our Group.
• Members are invited to deliver conference papers / give reports on attendance at Conferences/ Workshops (eg Online Conference Jan 2007). In addition, SCU University Librarian, Des Stewart has offered to open SCU library conference report sessions to ALIA members and any interested library personnel (with the agreement of the conference/workshop attendee).
