Annual General Meeting
18 October 2001, 4:30pm.
Present: Anne Spelman (Convenor), Clare Burford, Jill Duffield, Ann Weaver, Margaret Kittson, Sue Bonifant, Jo Bell, Loris Phair (Sercretary)

Agenda:
Item 1: Briefing on National Policy Congress 2000 and upcoming conference in December 2001.
Action: Convenor, Anne Spelman, to represent CYS Queensland at NCP 2001
Item 2: Pro-fusion conference debrief by Loris Phair
Action: Analysis and feedback comments read and endorsed by those present. Participation certificates for Profusion 2001 have been sent to those requesting them.
Item 3: Convenor's report for 2001 presented.
Action: Read and accepted by members.
Item 4: Election of treasurer, other executive positions 'unchallenged.
Action: Margaret Kittson unanimously elected to position. Thank you, Margaret!
Item 5: 2002 CYS funding application
Action: As this is due in December the meeting decided the executive should apply for some funds sufficient to enable to payment of an interstate speaker for 2002 conference.
Item 6: Strategic planning 2002
Action: Several ideas were aired and discussed.
- The consensus was for CYS to work towards another one-day seminar for a similar date in July 2002.
- The synergy and co-operation between TLs and public librarians was flagged as a potential key focus. Suggestions included inviting Dr Alan Bundy to speak - Anne to investigate this possibility. (His paper is available at http://www.library.unisa.edu.au/papers/papers.htm)
- Having a panel of students to discuss their reading, perhaps they could be video-ed? Different ways, male/female etc investigated for reading promotion ideas.
- A session on sharing of strategies to promote reading amongst adolescents.
- A session on networking between TLs and public librarians.
