Agenda:
Item 1.
Anne S. debriefed committee on ALIA NPC in Canberra; relayed name change of group to 'CYS' and new financial and reporting requirements.
Action
Secretary to amend CYS Qld promotional materials and note six-monthly reporting requirements. Reports are now to be sent to Susanne Bruhn and the ALIA webmaster.
Item 2.
Anne S. handed over CYS financial file over to Margaret Kittson
Action
- Margaret will investigate the need for banking arrangements, check ALIA webpage for guidance and will liaise with Susanne Bruhn with any further queries re role.
- CYS Qld executive webpage information to be updated and ALIA e-mail communications to be forwarded to treasurer and secretary.
Item 3.
ALIA membership drive for CYS Qld members
Action
CYS Qld members will be e-mailed an invitation to join ALIA and enroll in the national CYS e-list via Mylee Joseph. Anne will request a supply of ALIA promotional packs from Susanne Bruhn for distribution at CYS Qld events.
Item 4.
Funding submission for 2002 tabled and discussed. Alan Bundy has been approached to be a keynote speaker and Kaye Nunan from State Library of Queensland the conference facilitator. Townsville ALIA group has expressed interest in a similar event for their region.
Action
A bid for $1300 has been submitted to ALIA to cover speaker and promotional costs for the proposed one-day July 2002 conference.
Item 5.
Professional development awareness program for CYS Qld members
Action
Information on three upcoming PD events for Semester 1 of 2002 will posted to CYS Qld e-list. CYS executive members will be active contributors to these events:
- 'X-Men and Xeroxed Revolutionaries' lunchtime lecture (12:30pm-1:15pm). State Library of Queensland, ph 07 3840 7768.
- Somerset College Celebration of Literature library professional's seminar day, Friday 15 March.
- Booktalkers Queensland 'Illustrators breakfast', Sunday 17 March.
Additionally CYS Qld members to be alerted to executive minutes being posted on ALIA homepage from now on.
