Each year the ALIA Children's and Youth Services (NSW) Group seeks copyright permission from each publisher to use the books as follows.
CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK SHORTLISTED TITLES
We are seeking your permission to use the text, illustrations and cover
art of the short listed titles published by your company the Pre book
week Extravaganza free professional development day for public library
staff in NSW.
This event typically includes ideas for:
- Displays in the library
- Readers theatre; simple dramatised reading of a scene from a book
- Storytelling
- Cross words and find a words
- Competitions (colouring in etc)
Territory for distribution – NSW public library staff
- This event attracts children's librarians for a brainstorming session on ways to promote and enjoy the CBCA shortlisted titles with children in libraries.
- A compilation of notes with suggestions for how libraries can promote this book to children will be made available on the ALIA CYS
website http://alia.org.au/groups/cysnsw/
- All participants in the Pre book week Extravaganza event are reminded of their copyright responsibilities to request individual
permission for any activities they conduct in their libraries.
Public Performance/Dramatisation:
- The Pre book week extravaganza takes place on Monday 25 June from 9.30 – 3.30 at the State Library of NSW. The Dixson Room seats 90 people and only one performance will occur.
- The presentations are not recorded.
- As a professional development event coordinated by the Young People in NSW Libraries working group and ALIA CYS (NSW) this event is free for NSW public library staff.
A representative from your company would be most welcome to attend the Extravaganza.
