The ALIA Community Information Australia Networkers (CIAN) is a self-help medium to promote professional development activities for community information workers, to inform and educate by promoting best practice in community information, provide a forum for discussion relating to the skills and functions of community information provision, and to support standards of operations which will ensure the best possible service to the community.

CIAN is national in focus, but with a South Australian meeting base.
