Academic & Research Libraries (WA)2005 Annual ReportKey activities held in 2005PD events and activities:
March 2005: Icebreaker / student awards night. Each year the group awards prizes to library studies students for (a) best student practicum, sponsored by Blackwells Book Services, and (b) best student essay or presentation, sponsored by DA Information Services.
May 2005: Presentations and a panel discussion on Building libraries for the 21st century. Three guest speakers described current or proposed new library buildings/and or extensions to existing buildings at their respective institution.
July 2005: Presentations and a panel discussion on Future library trends and their effects on service delivery. Guest speakers included the state librarian, and university librarians.
October 2005: Topic Research in progress. Academic staff and students were invited to provide an overview of their current research projects. December 2005: Annual General Meeting and Christmas dinner celebration. Fifteen ARL members attended this function.
