Living Memory Project update

Jill Jolliffe's talk on the East Timor Living Memory project was included in our last APSIG newsletter. We can now report more progress.

The first six interviews are now on-line on the host site, the Southeast Asia Digital Library Project (click on "videos" then "Living Memory Project"). Interviews are with Akui Leong (Chinese-Timorese driver of Xanana Gusmao); Simplicio Celestino de Deus (student at the Santa Cruz massacre); Madalena Soares (female guerrilla fighter); Maria da Silva Benfica (ex-political prisoners' activist); Marita Alves (FRETILIN Member of Parliament) and Chico Mau Lohi (singer). The interviews are in English, Tetun or Portuguese, with English language subtitles and transcript in the interview language, and links to related photos.

Congratulations to all concerned including Northern Illinois University which hosts the Digital Library.
