Warren Horton AM, 1938-2003

Mr Warren Horton, former director-general of the National Library of Australia from 1985 to 1999, passed away on 25 November 2003 after a long illness. Known to many colleagues from the Asia-Pacific region, Warren was treasurer of IFLA from 1993 to 1997 as well as being active in the Conference of Directors of National Libraries. He travelled widely in Asia and attended many conferences and met many delegations which visited Australia. An obituary is at http://www.nla.gov.au/news/whorton.html.
