IFLA AOS Call for Papers

World Library and Information Congress/70th IFLA General Conference and Council, 20-27 August 2004, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Call for papers from the IFLA Asia Oceania Section:

Theme: Information literacy for a knowledge society in Asia and Oceania.

Information literacy, a cornerstone of the knowledge society, is the focus of the Asia and Oceania Section's Strategic Plan for 2004-2005. AOS invites library and information professionals and researchers to submit proposals of papers to be presented in the Section's programme. Topics of interest include, but not are limited to:

  • Innovative information literacy activities/programmes that meet changes and challenges in the region;
  • The use of ICT or distance education to support information literacy programmes;
  • Information literacy models and approaches that are useful in developing a knowledge society in Asia and Oceania.

Submission dateline for abstracts: 31 January 2004

Submission dateline for papers: 31 May 2004

Final notification of selected papers will be announced by February 2004, and a formal letter of invitation will be sent to paper presenters.
