3. Business Arising
3.1. Sharr Medal
15 May second round interviews and decision on winner.
Paige is liaising with Liz Byrski. The speakers at the Sharr Medal presentation will be Liz Byrski and Sue Hutley. The presentation will be held in July. Need to have the medal cast soon.
3.2 Wiki for committee documents
The wiki has been set up by Jill. Marg to put in a treasurer's section with Leading Libraries documents.
Please post emails to the wiki and use discussion facility from next month.
3.3 Icebreaker Event photos for blog
Paige has these ready to go.
3.4 RFID WA Event (Excellence Award for 2007)
To be held 2nd July 8:30-3:30 in the Alexander Library building.
Has been shortened because Great Southern room has been booked from 5pm. Natarsha is having trouble contacting the presenter. Natarsha to contact Robyn Ellard.

3.6 Kevin Hennah visit
To be held 6 August at Fremantle Library 9am-4:30pm

Liz Byrski to be speaker at Sharr Medal function.
3.8 Erick and Japp visit
Vicky has emailed Erick and Japp
Talk to be about libraries in Denmark
Coming early in September (before ALIA Biennial conference)
Aimed at younger librarians
Will need to apply for funding from ALIA
Jill to send funding guidelines to Vicky
Vicky to find out more details (date they are coming, whether they are going to the conference, ...)
Could ask State Library, WALGLA, local councils to chip in
Vicky to start putting together a proposal seeking sponsorship from other organizations
3.9 Inga Lunden visit
Will be a Leading Libraries collaboration.

The calendar is up on the wiki.
3.11 Report on ALIA Board of Directors meeting
Vicky to get report from Michelle.

Marg is chasing payment from 2 non-attendees.
Loss of $518.25 (not counting Borders sponsorship)

Expo 16-18 May 2008 at convention centre
Cost for smallest booth $1990
Should consider doing this next year.
Need a gimmick to attract people to the stand eg TV screen, displaying second life
Wireless internet connection available ($29 per day)

No report. Michelle re-elected to Board.
6.4. Initiative with PLA
Tentative date is 10 June at Borders. No speaker. 15% discount on purchases.
6.5. Mentoring
Meeting between Annette Coleman, Jane Edinger, Linda Papa and Kosana Troughton on 1 May to discuss mentoring for special librarians.
