- Business arising
More than 50 people attended the Icebreaker at ARRC, which was a great success. Many thanks to Marie Sell, Nikki Pittala and ALIAWest Committee members for their combined efforts.
The issue of reduced rates for Committee members at functions was discussed and it was decided that, depending on predicted profit, they should be offered as an incentive.
- Correspondence
In:
Kay Poustie re: Member Engagement and Participation Workshop on 22 March 2004.
NLA re: Biblia ISSN.
Out:
Kay Schneider re: future placement of InfoWest database.
- Reports
5.1 Treasurer's report
Although not all invoices for Icebreaker have been received, the profit from this function is predicted to be approx. $200.00.
5.2 Biblia Report
No response yet to request for an editor. Nine readership survey responses received to date. Rose to advertise on WAIN.
5.3 Awards
Sharr Medal
As Library Week is normally very busy, it was proposed that the Sharr Medal function be held in week preceding, i.e week commencing 17 May 2004. (Possibly combined with Special Librarian of the Year Award presentation?)
Rose to book Constitutional Centre and contact Lisa Kidd re: medals.
Suggested ideas for award were a trophy, engraved vase or glassware, book tokens (Boffins?)
