From the WA Forum meeting held Tuesday, 8 October 2002 in Room 2.9 Alexander Library Building, State Library of WA, at 5:35pm.

No movement in statement - still $631.81 in the red.

TPG internet connection is part of office provision for Linda.
- 5.3 Continuing professional development co-ordinator's report
- 5.3.1: Phil Teece function
- Venue was unsuitable (noise due to open windows - difficult to hear speakers)
- 26 attendees (from promised 38)
- 5.3.2: Jeanette is organising Professional Reading Group for end of October (last for this year).
- 5.3.3: Camille suggested CDP activities for next year. Costings available next meeting.
- 4 PRG meetings - possibly time to start charging
- Seminar in November - up to 1 day

- 5.4: Biblia report
- 5.4.1: Linda still mails 8 hard copies to individuals and Battye Library.
- 5.4.2: There is a need to seek nominations for Biblia positions.
- 5.4.3: Editors to follow up the offer of a comic from librarian/cartoonist Kim Grace
- 5.5: AGM - 6:00pm Tuesday 19 November 2002, Brass Monkey Hotel
- Nominations have not been received. If no nominations are forthcoming there will be no WA Forum (CPD and BIBLIA will also cease).
- Deanne offered to help with Sharr Medal.

Discussed the need for budgets for planned activities:
- Awards
- LIW
- Sharr Medal
- Seminar
- CPD costs
- Biblia - postage/printing?
Action: All committee members to prepare a budget for planned activities to submit for next meeting.
- Other business
Information Management Alliance invited WA Forum to sign a letter to Sheila McHale (Minister Culture and the Arts) requesting a lobbying alliance. They asked for member's names. As ALIA does not hand out membership lists the letter went to the Minister without ALIA signatures.
