ALIA WA Forum

Minutes of the meeting of the WA Forum held on Monday, 11 February 2002.

  3. Matters arising from previous minutes
    3.2 Icebreaker function
    Bonnie to draft letter to Alan Bundy re attending an Ice Breaker Function in March - done
    Bobbie has contacted Alan Bundy, and he is happy to come over. The Ice Breaker Function will be on 6 March 5:30pm-7:30pm. Followed by dinner.
    Alan will liase directly with Andrea Jones of the Geraldton Public Library to organise a function in Geraldton.
    A.I. Bobbie to contact the Cottesloe Hotel and LISWA re availability of function rooms.
    A.I. Bonnie will make sure function is advertised on WAIN and other outlets.
    Function in Geraldton.
    Cancelled due to various factors.

    5.1.2 Budget
    a. Bonnie to e-mail E Bardoe, A Raspa, and Sam Hughes re figures for budget: done.

    5.4.1 Biblia
    a. Alethea to contact I Trundle re guidelines for putting Biblia on the ALIA website: Done. All is ready to go. Alethea is having problems getting an answer from Ivan.

  4. Correspondence.
    In: E-mails from C Gilbert, R Briede, and K Smith. Commending WA Forum and Eilishia on quality of delegates report from NPC, and raising a number of issues.
    Out: None.

  5. Reports
    5.1 Convenors report
    Budget for WA Forum has been prepared and sent off
    Events calendar is on hold.
    Deanne Barret has nominated for Board of Directors, all WA Groups should be encouraged to vote for Deanne so that we will have a WA Rep.
    Sharr Medal: nominees will make a presentation to the Sharr Medal Panel on 16 February.

    5.3 CPD report
    Eilishia has resigned as CPD co-ordinator. Currently no official CPD co-ordinator, but we have a basic program, and remaining members of CPD Committee will continue for this year with support from rest of WA Forum.

    5.4 Biblia
    Very low on copy. A few happenings and that is all, those members of the committee who are involved in other groups encouraged to get their groups to contribute something about their activities.
    Back issues of Biblia to be burnt to CD and will be available on request.

  6. Other business
    6.1 As part of her involvement with WA Australian Government Locator Service State Committee, Eilishia will be meeting with Mary Gorman acting manager Government Standards National Office for the Information Economy and Andrew Wilson, acting director Recordkeeping Standards and Policy next week.
    6.2 Meeting dates. Proposal to move meetings to first Monday of the month not taken up, as too often first Monday of the month falls on a public holiday. Meetings will continue as second Monday of every month.
    6.3 ALIA website now has an online form, Action Please, which alerts Board of Directors and ALIA National Office staff to members concerns. Good medium to inform ALIA of members wishes.

    5:30pm Monday 11 March at room 2.9 LISWA.
    Meeting closed 7:30pm.
