Minutes of the meeting of the WA Forum held on 12 November 2001.

- Matters Arising
3.1 Alan Bundy, and Ice Breaker function.
March would be a good time to have this function.
Action Item: Bonnie to confirm what Alan said about his timetable.
3.2 ALIA Policy Statements.: Done
3.3 ALP Public Library Policy Council
Outstanding event: well attended, all happy. Four million dollars funding over 4 years. Claire Forte appointed acting state librarian. Public librarians pleased to see WA Forum rep present.
3.4 Central TAFE CPD talk by Bonnie: power point presentation and talk: well received.
3.5 South West Regional Conference, support by WA Forum. In principal supported by WA Forum.
Action item: Bonnie to let WA Forum know what support is needed so WA Forum can budget for it.

6.2 Convenors report.
6.2.1 Thanks to Trudy for her work in my absence
6.2.2 Library Board Representative: ALIA representative incumbent has received a letter from LISWA extending all positions for another year. Trevis Lawton has expressed interest in being ALIA representative on Library Board should this position become vacant.
6.2.3 Institute for Information Management. Ann Last (IIM Chair) would like ALIA to work with IIM, along with other similar interest groups in WA.

- ASA
- Health and Information Association Australia
- ACS
- Meeting held October 10th.
- Issues for discussion:
- Reciprocal membership and discounts for events,
- Discounts for their members at our functions
Bobbie advised IIM of National office funding arrangements.
Suggested a joint Christmas Function on 6 December, 5:00pm at the Brass Monkey.: IIM members could attend if they wish.
Action Item: produce a calendar of events for 2002, share with IIM and negotiate rescheduling if appropriate.
6.3 CPD report.
Leadership Seminar.
Bookings: Seminar 26, Seminar/Dinner 14, Dinner Only 2
CPD committee will hold a budgeting workshop to help groups formulate budgets for National Office.

7.1 Library and Information Week.
Sam Hughes is Library and Information Week co-ordinator for 2002
She will be building on what Jane Edinger produced for 2001

7.2 National Policy Congress
Eilishia Bardoe is WA Forum rep for NPC. Action Item - Bobbie to send e-mail, asking for any 'burning issues' for NPC to be forwarded to Eilishia.
