2.2 CPD report:
Presented by E Bardoe
Regional internet skills workshop - Geraldton: Was a great success, Kondinan is keen to run it in all regional centres. This is an expensive exercise, and if WA Forum wish to continue this sort of thing, it is important to get corporate sponsorship such as Telstra.
Professional Reading Group was also a big success, and a good PR exercise. Professional Reading Group is a good CPD exercise as it is free. Those involved in the group take it in turns to faciltate the meetings, and source discussion material.
Upcoming events include CAVAL workshop in September, a presentation on 17 October - 'Where to from here?' Librarians who haved moved out of libraries will present their stories and experiences - tentative speakers include Kay Schneider(declined), Lee Williams and Sue Lapham, Inin Campbell-Fraser and Eilishia Bardoe as backup.
November - Leadership seminar - proposed venue is Cottesloe Beach Hotel, proposed speakers include Kerry Smith, Bobbie Bruce, Ricky Burgess, Lian Borlace.
Action item: Bobbie Bruce to Contact Margaret at the Graduate School of Business, and provide contact details for Ann from City of Nedlands.
2.3 Biblia
The issue of a new server location for Biblia still needs to be resolved. Clare will continue to pursue this issue with Jane Klobas.
Action item: Bobbie Bruce will identify the cost of our present ISP.
Clare will mail out a survey to subscribers to Biblia - do they want a mail out once, twice or three times a year, or not at all? The half dozen subscribers on our list with no electronic access will continue to receive the hard copy of the newsletter.
