Editorial

Many thanks to Bonnie-Rae Bruce and Sharon Coppin for being editors of Biblia for the past two years. Bonnie and Sharon have been putting together Biblia in their 'spare time' after work, study, and family commitments and it is commendable that they have produced as many issues as they have.

We now need to replace two editors as well as find new committee members, a treasurer and secretary for ALIA West. As you may have noticed, ALIA West is not as active as it used to be. We have too few people on the committee to produce Biblia, run the F A Sharr medal and Special Librarian of the Year award, organise functions, and run the aliaWEST list. ALIA West is in crisis. We need several volunteers for the ALIA West committee and we need them now. (And preferably not the usual committee stalwarts who are eligible for a silver pin three times over and have multiple commitments besides their day job - I would like to see people who haven't been active in ALIA in the past take the opportunity to be involved and engaged in professional issues.)

If you want a state based ALIA group to continue, if you want Biblia to continue, if you want the F A Sharr medal and everything else that ALIA West does to continue, don't leave it to others to do something about it, volunteer now.
