What's on in the library during March

Free library newsletter now published each month - collect a copy at the library for latest news of events and highlights on some of the latest books, DVDs, talking books, videos and other resources.

Free internet course for all beginners. This basic introduction session is held each Wednesday 10:00am - 11:30am. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 March. For bookings, or more information, contact Bob McKenzie on 9461 3578.

Board games each Thursday 9:30am - 11:30am. Scrabble, cards, chess, checkers and more. Tea and coffee provided. (BYO biscuits). Contact the library for more details on 9461 3581.

Aging with attitude group meets at 10:00am Friday 3 and 17 March. The group is informal and self-directed. Goals are social interaction, personal empowerment, learning, mutual support, discussion and sharing life experiences. Contact Bob on 9461 3578 for more details.

Preschoolers story-time Saturday 4 March 10:30am - 11:00am. Pets are the theme this month. Enjoy interactive stories, rhymes and crafts. There is something for everyone - books, DVDs, videos and audio books for all ages. More details from Margaret 9461 3578.

Library Lounge talk - Ikebana demonstration Tuesday 21st March 12:15pm -12:45pm. Mrs Aiko Chester is a specialist in this traditional Japanese art which developed from the floral religious offerings composed by Japanese and Chinese temple monks during the 7th century. The event is part of the 2006 Australia - Japan year of exchange. BYO lunches are welcome. Come early and stay late if you wish.
