The big library lunch
The big library lunch south of the river
A small but lively group met for lunch at the bistro in Technology Park. The food was great and the networking is always valuable. It was especially good to meet with librarians across different sectors - academic, government and special. We enjoyed it so much we decided we didn't want to wait a whole year before doing it again, so will organise another one in a few months.

The big library lunch at Fremantle
Sixteen participants enjoyed lunch at the Grosvenor Room which is Challenger TAFE's training restaurant and bar at the Grosvenor Street Campus, Beaconsfield. The food was very good, the service fantastic and at a cost of $15.50 for a three course lunch including coffee, the value was excellent. Thanks must go to Pauline Hodson, manager of Challenger Tafe learning resource centres for organising the venue. Lunch participants hailed from several sectors of the library world, from Murdoch and Curtin Uni, Challenger and Central TAFE, DEET, Fremantle Hospital, and others. Conversation was lively and folk wandered from table to table in order to get around to as many people as possible. I personally had great fun catching up with folk that I have met at other ALIA gatherings and playing the 'Didn't we meet at that workshop/conference/meeting/icebreaker last month/week/year?' game!
I must say I agree with Pauline Sawyer that a whole year is too long to wait for another chance to get together, so will look forward to the next library lunch.
