ALIA Biennial Conference - Perth 2006- update

Some of our readers may already be aware that a committee of WA ALIA members have successfully tendered to hold the next ALIA Biennial Conference here in Perth in 2006. We will endeavour to provide regular conference updates throughout the year.

The first update appears below.

The 2006 ALIA Biennial Conference will be held in Perth at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre 19-22 September 2006. All Western Australian librarians are encouraged to get behind this event.

Imogen Garner is convenor for the conference
Kay Poustie is chair of the programme committee
Alison Sutherland is chair of the exhibition committee
Carol Newton Smith is chair of the social committee
Michelle Ledger is chair of the publicity committee and
Deanne Barrett is the conference treasurer

Other committee members are Margaret Allen, state librarian LISWA and Jane Edinger, convenor ALIAWest.

The professional conference organiser is still to be confirmed as is the theme for the conference.
