Meet the committee
Belinda Grayson
BAppSc (Information and Library Studies) Systems Librarian Cambridge Library
After graduating, I missed having contact with a large group of librarians, so became interested in ALIA. I started by ordering Continuing Professional Development packs for myself and the other librarians I work with, then I requested to be put in touch with a mentor, who encouraged me to stretch myself and join a committee. Along the way I have found many CPD activities that have helped me to grow professionally and personally. I am proud to be responsible for co-ordinating the Sharr Medal, an honour awarded annually to the most promising new graduate.
Alison Underwood
I was born in England and grew up in Wales. I am a qualified primary school teacher, and spent several years teaching in the UK before migrating to Australia in September 2000.
After completing a Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies at Curtin University in 2002, I was employed by WMC Resources Ltd for whom I currently work four days a week as a records officer and one day a week as a librarian.
