ALIA West
October 2003Infowesthttp://www.specialsinfo.com Infowest is the "contact list for information professionals in WA". It is a searchable database of details of WA information professionals, useful when tracing a work colleague, or seeking someone with particular expertise to fill that vacant position in your info centre. The database currently contains approximately 150 names. You can enter your own details and thus control the currency of your record. The database is searchable by name, organisation, subject, expertise, skill or availability. When you retrieve a record certain details are displayed and certain details are hidden to protect the privacy of the individual. Each record is password protected. Infowest was an initiative of the KISWA Group, one of the predecessors of the current ALIA West Group. It was set up in 2000 by Kay Schneider and her committee as a resource for the information community in WA. ALIA West is currently negotiating to have the database reside on the ALIA website. We will keep you informed of developments. Meanwhile, see http://www.specialsinfo.com Check it out: make a search: enter your own details!
