ALIA West
August 2003
ALIA West convenor's report
The last few months have seen many changes in our local library scene. The merger of KISWA and WA Forum has seen the formation of our new group, ALIA West, that I trust will enable an united approach to the promotion of the library networks in WA. This united approach is also being seen in the @Your Library marketing campaign being co-ordinated through a Steering Committee of representatives from all library sectors and with the support of the State Library. All libraries, regardless of sector or size, are being asked to participate in this campaign. Plus the appointment of Kay Poustie as the new local liaison officer for WA, promises a co-ordinated approach to the promotion of ALIA and libraries in the regional areas as well as Perth. Kay is organising the local NPC Meeting to be held on August. I hope these changes will see a revitalisation of the ALIA network in Perth and I encourage everyone to become involved in your local groups and in the @Your Library campaign. Regardless of sector or size, we are all librarians and need to present our multi-talented and diverse image to the public.
Regards to all
