National Policy Congress (NPC)

The NPC will be held 19-20 September in Canberra this year. The Perth regional meeting will be held Monday 4 August 2003 at 5:45pm at the
UWA Medical and Dental Library
1st Floor Seminar Room
Corner Monash Avenue and Hospital Avenue, Nedlands.
Parking at the door, enter off Monash Avenue.

Progress report on 2003-04 plan

Initiative A -Two ALIA Local Liaison Officers have been appointed. The WA local liaison officer is Kay Poustie.

Initiative C - Work continues on the LISEKA framework with the Board working towards a demonstration and update at the NPC.

Initiative D - A partnership with the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia (APESMA) will provide ALIA members access to APESMA short courses at APESMA member rates.

Initiative E - REAP launched May 2003

Initiative K - new Graduates group is on ALIAnet and a New Librarians Symposium one day reunion proposed for December 2003.

Initiative N - the first edition of aliaPUBNEWS was published in July and will operate on a trial basis until December 2003. To subscribe to aliaPUBNEWS go to http://lists.alia.org.au/mailman/listinfo/aliaPUBNEWS/.

Initiative J and O - the new internet accessible membership database is active.
