Powering your mind

The City of Joondalup Libraries will be hosting a variety of free events and activities during Library and Information Week, to be held 12th-18th May. The theme of Library and Information Week this year is 'Powering Your Mind'.

Duncraig and Woodvale Libraries are currently asking for people to come in and vote for their favourite book. Results of this poll will be available during Library and Information Week.

Joondalup Library will have a word search up that everyone can come in and assist with completing, and Whitford Library will also be having a group crossword. As well as the word search, Joondalup Library is having a 'Guess the Sportsplayer's Favourite Book' quiz. Thursday the 15th May is also the International Day of Families, so an intergenerational storytelling session has been organised. Local schools have been invited to participate in this session.

Duncraig and Whitford Library, along with Joondalup Reference Library, will also be hosting a variety of computer based training sessions, such as Internet and online database training.

Kids visiting the Joondalup Library will be able to participate in an ongoing treasure hunt and a 'Guess the Number of Lollies in the Jar' competition, whilst those visiting Woodvale Library on the 16th May will be able to join in with a book character storytime and have the opportunity to have their face painted!

Spineless Wonders, the minibeast specialists, will be presenting a fascinating and entertaining session at Duncraig Library, whilst youth visiting the Whitford Library will have the opportunity to 'Design your Library' for the young adult area.

Whitford Library will also be hosting a Getting Started in Painting information session.

With all these events, what better place to Power Your Mind than your local City of Joondalup Library!!
