Oral History practitioners and researchers from around Australia and overseas will come to Perth for the National Oral History Conference in September 2003. Australian and international speakers will present theoretical papers and project reports covering social history issues including, a Latin American housing project, changing food preferences in Australia and the memories of Vietnam veterans. The programme of 36 papers and workshops will provide a balance of practice and theory, catering from everyone from the novice to the long term practitioner. Join us in Perth for an inspiring mix of approaches to Oral History and the chance to meet and learn from colleagues in the field.

The West Australian Branch of the Oral History Association of Australia is offering to sponsor nominees from Local History Groups and Genealogy groups to attend the National Conference of the Oral History Association of Australia Inc. The Association would like to encourage a wide range of participation and is inviting your group to nominate a member to receive $250.00 to assist with attendance of the Conference.

Your application should include the full name and address of your group, the name of the individual nominated and a brief statement (up to 150 words) outlining the benefits you expect your nominee to gain from attendance at the conference. The sponsored nominee will be asked to submit a brief report (approximately 500 words) on any aspect of the conference for publication in "Playback". Reports must be received by 30 October 2003.

The closing date for nominations is 25 July 2003.
