Introduction to metadata

This half-day seminar provides an overview of some fundamentals of metadata - definitions, applications and issues to be considered in implementing cataloguing of websites.

Those who are considering implementing a metadata program, those who are managing such a program and require information before initiating it, anyone who requires an introduction to metadata.

The presenter
Jennifer Gawne worked in libraries for over 20 twenty years before joining CAVAL Collaborative Solutions as a cataloguing reviewer in 1998. While working on a metadata project three years ago she developed the idea and material for this course. Her working life is now concentrated on training and metadata projects.
