Obituary: Someone Else

We are sorry to inform you of the recent death of librarianship's most valuable supporter:: Someone Else. The disappearance creates a gap that will be hard to fill.

Being involved with librarianship and its support for years, Someone Else did far more than most of us in promoting libraries.

Whenever there was a meeting, a debate, a speaker, a letter to write, a sum to add, funds to be raised, names would be on everyone's lips...."let Someone Else do it".

It was common knowledge that Someone Else was amongst the staunchest of librarianship's supporters and all of us expected good old Someone Else to sort it out.

A person can only do so much and if we are truthful; everybody expected far too much of Someone Else.

Now Someone Else is going! What are we going to do? Someone Else left a shining example to follow, but who is going to do the things Someone Else did?

When you are asked to stand up for YOUR profession, remember ...
